Boeing 767 leaves American Airlines fleet

American Airlines is following other airlines in phasing out the Boeing 767 in the coming years.

These plans became known during the presentation of the annual figures over 2018. In this presentation they presented which aircraft will remain in their fleet and which will be retired.

Boeing 767

By 2021 American Airlines wants to get rid of the last Boeing 767 in their fleet. The aircraft will be replaced by Boeing 787-9s. Currently American Airlines has 24 767’s in their fleet.

A321neo

In 2019 American Airlines receives their first A321neo. They plan to receive 50 of them in the coming three years. The new aircraft will initially base at Los Angelas and Phoenix. The first flight will be in September.

A330

American Airlines has a small amount of A330, and they will remain in their fleet for the next three years.

Besides the 767, American Airlines will also say goodbye to the MD80s and Embraer E-190.
