Discover Airlines, Lufthansa’s leisure airline, has officially announced a major cabin upgrade for its long-haul fleet. Beginning in Spring 2027, the airline will introduce its new “Ocean Blue” cabin design on all Airbus A330-300 aircraft.

This upgrade will be rolled out step by step across the fleet, with all 16 A330-300 aircraft expected to receive the new interior. According to the airline, the goal is simple: to make the flight feel like the start of the holiday, not just a way to get there.

With Ocean Blue, Discover Airlines wants passengers to feel relaxed, comfortable, and already in vacation mode from the moment they board the aircraft.

Designed to Feel Like a Vacation in the Air

The Ocean Blue cabin concept focuses on calm colors, open space, and a clean look. Different shades of blue are used throughout the cabin to reflect the sea and sky, helping to create a peaceful and fresh atmosphere.

Soft lighting, modern materials, and carefully chosen details come together to give the cabin a more elegant feel. The design is meant to appeal to leisure travelers who value comfort and style, especially on long flights.

Importantly, Ocean Blue will not be limited to one cabin. Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy Class will all receive updates, ensuring a better experience for every passenger on board.

Business Class: A Private and Comfortable Space

At the front of the aircraft, the new Business Class is designed to offer both comfort and privacy.

Passengers can expect:

  • Fully lie-flat seats with direct access to the aisle
  • A closable door for extra privacy
  • Beds that are up to 2 meters (6.5 feet) long
  • Large 4K screens for entertainment
  • Wireless charging
  • USB and power outlets for laptops and phones
  • Adjustable privacy dividers

The layout allows passengers to rest, work, or sleep without disturbance. The seat easily transforms into a flat bed, making long overnight flights more comfortable.

Discover Airlines also plans to improve its business class service, adding thoughtful touches that make the experience feel warm and personal. The airline describes this as creating a “home above the clouds.”

Lighting That Supports Better Sleep and Less Jet Lag

One key feature across all cabins is the new human-focused lighting system.

This system:

  • Changes brightness and color throughout the flight
  • Matches the time of day or night
  • Helps the body adjust naturally to different time zones
  • Reduces tiredness and jet lag after arrival

This lighting is especially helpful on long-haul routes, where passengers often struggle with sleep and time changes. By supporting natural body rhythms, the cabin feels calmer and easier on the eyes.

Premium Economy: Extra Comfort Without Business Class Prices

The updated Premium Economy cabin is built for travelers who want more space and comfort, but at a lower cost than business class.

Features include:

  • Fixed shell seats, allowing passengers to recline without affecting the person behind them
  • More legroom and better seat support
  • Built-in leg rests
  • Small privacy panels for a more personal space
  • Wireless charging
  • USB and power outlets
  • 15.6-inch 4K screens
  • Noise-canceling headphones
  • A small cocktail table hidden in the armrest

These changes make Premium Economy a strong choice for long flights, offering comfort, space, and convenience.

Economy Class: Small Changes That Make a Big Difference

Economy Class will also see meaningful improvements aimed at making long journeys more enjoyable.

Passengers can look forward to:

  • A new seat design with better body support
  • Six-way adjustable headrests
  • Improved legroom
  • 13.3-inch 4K screens
  • Bluetooth connection for personal headphones
  • USB charging ports at every seat

These updates help passengers relax, stay entertained, and keep their devices charged throughout the flight.
